Students of the English Proyect of the 4th
Year of Compulsory Secondary Education of the High School “Laguna de Tollón”
have visited the capital of Andalussia, Seville, on the 15th of May.
The main
objective of this activity was to practice what they have learned in the
classes of the English Project. Students have prepared in advance a
questionnaire with questions in English, so they can speak to foreign people in
Seville. Another objective was to learn the history of the main monuments of
the city, The Cathedral of Seville and The Alcázar of Seville, the Royal Palace
of Seville. They had read in English the history of both monuments in class and
they had to identify all the main elements and parts in both monuments.
The route was the following one: students´parents took
them to the train station of Lebrija, and there, the teachers were waiting for
them. We took the train to Seville at half-past nine, and we stopped at San
Bernardo station. Then, we walked to the cathedral of Seville, we had
breakfast, and we went to visit the Cathedral at 11:40. Next, we visited The Alcázarof
Seville at one o´clock. After that, we walked to the center of the city and we
had time to eat and to see the monument called Seville´s Metrosol Parasol, “The
Mushrooms of Incarnation”. At four o´clock, we took the tram to go to San
Bernardo station, to take the train to return to Lebrija, at ten to five.
Finally, we arrived at half-past five to Lebrija, and students´parents were
waiting for them. The activity was prepared by their teacher of Proyect Mª Ángeles Romero Sánchez and we were
accompanied by their English teacher Ana Belén Jiménez Márquez.
